You Have a Voice

There’s No Reason To Be Silent When God Ordained It To Be So!! - O. Yvette Ward

Are you familiar with the story of Miriam? There are different dynamics to her life, as is the case of every one. Miriam was a leader who spoke when it was not popular for women to have a voice. Yet, it was God who gave it to her.

Words are powerful and can be life-transforming. Considering that, you have the powerful opportunity to use your voice for transformation. There are many reasons for speaking up. We’ll take a look at a few of those reasons.

Source of Freedom

You can use your voice as a source of freedom for yourself and others. Your voice can be an agent of change to your environment.

If you live in a space where people toss negativity about like grains of salt, your voice could be an inspiration in that place. Positive and uplifting words inspire greatness in people, while negativity creates feelings of failure and inadequacy.

When afforded the opportunity, use your voice to build up people rather than to tear them down. The effects could be profound. And can create a different community where people perform at a higher level and to a higher standard.

Freedom of Expression

Your expressive voice could lead others to expressions that may not get experienced otherwise. Many women desire to build, create, solve problems, pray, write, sing, dance, or express themselves in other meaningful ways but feel held back for whatever reason.

You have a voice. There is no reason to be silent when God ordained it to be so.

Miriam picked up her tambourine and started to dance and sing. The women did the same. The Bible documents this expression of gratitude to God as the first experience of dancing in the Bible. This freedom of expressive praise became one of the methods we use today when communicating appreciation, gratitude, and thanks to God.

Miriam had a voice that profoundly expressed feelings of exuberance that we still use today. You too, can freely express your feelings to God, family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and your community.

Create a Winning Environment

Of course, a person could naturally excel based on the sheer determination to prove that they can win. However, wouldn’t it be better to remove negative tension? Could that lead to cultivating an environment conducive to higher levels of thinking? You could be the person that generates opportunities for people to show high potential?

When people feel better about themselves, they make better choices. Consider a person deciding upon a career path. For the person who wants to enter a profession that requires deep thought, negatively charged environments could hinder their ability to tap into deeper levels of conscious thought.

Your voice could be the one that sets the atmosphere for the person who needs calm and quiet surroundings to succeed.

Final Reflections

Miriam was a leader who expressively used her voice to praise God. In doing so, she led the women in a new form of celebration that created a vibe, an experience for people that continues today.

When you use your voice, you have the opportunity to

  1. be a source of freedom

  2. exemplify freedom of expression

  3. create a winning environment

You have a voice. There is no reason to be silent when God ordained it to be so. Use your voice for the good of yourself and others.
