You Have a Voice
There’s no reason to be silent when God gave you a message to share!! -Yvette Ward
Are you familiar with the story of Miriam? There are different dynamics to her life, as is the case of every one. Miriam was a leader who spoke when it was not popular for women to have a voice. Yet, it was God who gave it to her.
Words are powerful and can be life-transforming. Considering this, you have the powerful opportunity to use your voice for transformation. There are many reasons for speaking up. We’ll take a look at a few of those reasons.
Source of Freedom
You can use your voice as a source of freedom for yourself and others. Your voice can be an agent of change to your environment.
If you live in a space where people toss negativity about like grains of salt, your voice could be an inspiration in that place. Positive and uplifting words inspire greatness in people, while negativity creates feelings of failure and inadequacy.
When afforded the opportunity, use your voice to build up people rather than to tear them down. The effects could be profound. And can create a different community where people perform at a higher level and to a higher standard.
Freedom of Expression
Your expressive voice could lead others to expressions that may not get experienced otherwise. Many women desire to build, create, solve problems, pray, write, sing, dance, or express themselves in other meaningful ways but feel held back for whatever reason.
Miriam picked up her tambourine and started to dance and sing. Following her example, other women began to freely express themselves. The Bible documents this expression of gratitude to God as the first experience of dancing in the Bible. This freedom of expressive praise became one of the methods we use today when communicating appreciation, gratitude, and thanks to God.
Miriam had a voice that profoundly expressed feelings of exuberance that we still use today. You too, can freely express your feelings to God, family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and your community.
Create a Winning Environment
While determination alone can drive someone to succeed, imagine the power of removing barriers and creating spaces where excellence naturally flows. You have the potential to cultivate environments that unlock higher levels of thinking and performance.
You could be the catalyst that opens doors for others to demonstrate their God-given potential.
When people feel valued and supported, they make wiser decisions. Consider someone choosing their career path, especially in professions requiring deep thought and focus. Negativity-filled environments can block their access to the clarity and wisdom they need to excel.
Your voice could establish the atmosphere of peace and encouragement that others need to step into their calling.
From Reflection to Action
Miriam was a leader who boldly used her voice to praise God. In doing so, she led the women into a transformative celebration, creating an atmosphere and experience that still inspires us today.
When you use your voice with purpose, you have the opportunity to:
1. Become a source of freedom - Your words can release others from limitations they've accepted as unchangeable.
2. Model freedom of expression - Your courage to speak truth empowers others to find and use their own voice.
3. Establish a winning environment - Your intentional encouragement creates the conditions where others can excel.
God gave you a voice and a message. There is no reason to remain silent when you can speak life, truth, and encouragement into the world. Use your voice for the good of yourself and others and watch how God multiplies your impact.
